When the Autumn came

so did the rain

It poured day and night

and did not stop for a month.

The ground was soggy with wet earth

and the Old Inn was packed with people.

Constant was the wind

breaking the branches

and flattening the trees

Leaving a bare row of houses

open and vulnerable.
